Poage Park High on List of City’s Park Priorities
On Steve Carlyon’s big list of things to do this spring: Start work on the city’s George Poage park. The city park and rec director tells us bids will go out soon on the million dollar project to completely overhaul the space formerly known as Hood park
Carlyon says the park will include a year-round shelter and an ice skating facility as well as a sculpture of George Poage, who graduated from high school in La Crosse and went on to become the nation’s first black Olympic medalist.
