Veterans Assistance Program Gets State Grant

$250 thousand in grants from Madison are going to to 25 non profit

organizations to provide financial assistance or other services to Wisconsin veterans and their families. Chris Hanson directs the Veterans Assistance Foundation in Tomah. He says it’s sad that monies have to go to finding some vet’s a home to get them off the street.

The Tomah group will get $25 thousand to fund a study in the area that deals with veteran homelessness and housing. And also to update and purchase more computers for vets to use to find housing, a job or to keep up on veterans benefits.
