Monroe County Wants To Cut Board Size
The La Crosse County Board did it a few years ago. The city council in
La Crosse will do it two years from now. And the Monroe County Board is busy now with the process of shrinking its own size. One-third of the board seats will be eliminated next year, as a result of a referendum passed last April. Sharon Folcey is vice-chair of the Monroe board, and she wants to find a process that works:
New boundaries for board districts already have been drawn. Folcey says whatever size the board is, it’s important to operate Monroe County like a business.
