Neighborhood Advocate Has High Hopes for Road Study

Charley Weeth isn’t certain what a transportation study likely to be funded by the city of La Crosse will say about the city’s transportation needs.  But the president of Livable Neighborhoods believes that it will say something other than all of the city’s traffic needs can be solved by a new north-south road through the marsh, which has been the DOT’s transportation solution for decades.  An outdated plan, says Weeth

The full council votes tonight on paying a consultant 25 thousand dollars for the transportation study.  The move comes in response to a DOT threat to remove the promise of nearly 140 million dollars in future road building money from the city.
