La Crescent Voters At The Polls Today
Voters in La Crescent are at the polls today to vote on a school district
referendum. District superintendent Ron Wilke says quite a bit of homework was done before the decision to place the measure on the ballot was done.
Approval of the $24 million referendum means a new La Crescent-Hokah Elementary School would be built on Abnet Field, where Applefest sets up its carnival and tents every year. At a cost of $16 million. $7 million worth of upgrades would go towards the middleschool /high school.
