Lot C #2 Biggest Story Of 2014
Our news department’s number two story of the year is headline news again this morning.
La Crosse County Board chair Tara Johnson spoke after last night’s 20-to-3 vote by the board to accept a million dollars for Lot C, the courthouse parking lot. The deal comes almost seven months after a county committee reviewed development plans for the block from three potential buyers. Weber Holdings bought the parking lot. The deal will open up the Associated Bank on State Street to become a new county office building, so the current administrative center can be converted to student housing.
