Norovirus On The Move

The Minnesota Department of Health now reports the state is on track to

experience one of its worst years for norovirus. No major outbreaks in Wisconsin yet and Traci Kokke with Mayo in La Crosse tells us that a simple cleaning can help you avoid being sick during the holidays.

While norovirus is commonly called the stomach flu, Kokke says that is misleading. She says that the flu virus and the norovirus are completely different. The flu is a respiratory disease and there is a vaccine while the norovirus is the most common cause of intestinal disease and there is no vaccine for it.
