Appointment Of New La Crosse County Judge Not Due Until January, At The Soonest

A few local lawyers who want to be a judge probably won’t know until early in the new year who will get the job…

Three attorneys are going through the interview process with Governor Scott Walker for the La Crosse County court seat formerly held by Dale Pasell.  A spokeswoman for Walker says an appointment usually is made at least eight weeks after the application deadline, which was the first week of November.  Whoever gets the appointment could immediately start running for a full term in the April election.
