Employee Not At Fault In La Crosse Blast

A heat torch being used by an employee of Midwest Fuels in La Crosse seems to

be the cause of a blast and fire there back in November. La Crosse Fire Division Chief, Craig Snyder says the employee who was handling the torch is not being blamed for the early morning fire.

Snyder says the fire began near the base of the 50 foot silo near a valve. The torch ignited flammable vapors from that valve. No damage estimate was given Thursday.
