8th Biggest Story Of 2014

Our newsroom’s 8th biggest story of 2014 wasn’t essentially news.

But when a high school graduate makes it….in sports…it’s great news for the community. Dan Deicher has the number 8 story.

The heralded freshmen in the NCAA Wisconsin-Kentucky final four showdown were the five that started for Kentucky and the three others that came off the bench. That didn’t matter to UW freshman Bronson Koenig, who outplayed most of them in the first half. He came off the bench and scored 11 points with an assist and a steal in 16 minutes of first-half work. Though Koenig told us he had to shake of some pre-game jitters first.

Koenig only played four minutes in the second half and missed the only two shots he took. But that doesn’t matter. He made headlines locally and nationally…….and will continue to do so…making this area very proud to have seen him play in La Crosse. Bronson Koening…out 8th biggest story of 2014.
