Mitrel ‘ I didn’t Mean To Kill Him’

The La Crosse man on trial for a convenience store murder is questioned about

the deadly fight. Mitrel Anderson spent Tuesday afternoon on the witness stand at his own trial, saying he does not regret defending himself against DeMario Lee.  Anderson says Lee had attacked him in a Kwik Trip restroom, and he fought back by stabbing Lee in the head with a folding knife.  A prosecutor was trying to recreate the stabbing with a policeman in front of the jury, as Anderson watched:

Anderson says he was afraid a friend of Lee’s would try to shoot him after the stabbing…but the prosecution says Anderson appears calm on a security video, leaving the store after attacking Lee.
