Onalaska Incorporation Update

A dispute between local governments in La Crosse County goes back to the

courtroom next week.That’s when a judge will review a revised incorporation plan by the Town of Onalaska.  In April, the first petition was turned down because of disputed language.  The Village of Holmen is fighting the incorporation attempt, because both communities are laying claim to certain pieces of property.  Holmen administrator Scott Heinig says his village would not object, if the town would stay away from property near the Holmen boundary:

If the court approves the Onalaska petition, the state department of administration would make the final decision.
