Monroe County Says No To Wheel Tax
A $20 wheel tax will not be coming to Monroe County anytime soon. That, after
the county board voted 16-6 to indefinitely postpone the proposed resolution to create the extra fee. Highway Commissioner, Jack Dittmar says that extra cash could have done wonders for backlogged road repairs.
Without the extra cash now, Dittmar says with the one million dollars a year they have to fix roads…….it would take 60 years to fix them all.
