In the story of the Grinch, do you remember one of the reasons he hated
Christmas? The noise!
That sound from a toy truck being sold for Christmas places the truck on a list of bad gifts for kids, compiled by a public interest group. WISPIRG says a toy that makes sounds doesn’t have to be really loud. Even the sounds from a toy cellphone could damage a child’s hearing if held to the ear for too long. Maggie Oliver from WISPIRG says toys listed in the ‘Trouble in Toyland’ report are a small sample of the possible hazards at stores:
The WISPIRG study also found a few toys that could cause chemical or lead poisoning.
