Mayor; No Conflict Between Industrial Site and Development Area
La Crosse has high hopes for the 65 acre tract of riverfront land formerly known as the Mobil Oil site. But that land is just a few blocks south of last week’s industrial explosion at Midwest Fuels. Mayor Tim Kabat doesn’t see that proximity as a big negative. And says he there’s not a pressing need to relocate any of that heavy industry.
Kabat says it’s part of La Crosse’s history to have neighborhoods nestled in and among industrial areas and doesn’t see the lingering remnants of that changing soon.
