Campbell Police Chief Drama May End This Week

‘Finality’ is what one attorney is hoping for, in the unresolved dispute over the police chief in Campbell. 

The attorney for Campbell, Brent Smith, is hoping that a special town board meeting on Thursday will bring an end to the suspense over Police Chief Tim Kelemen.  Smith briefly talked with Kelemen’s attorney, Jim Birnbaum, last night after a closed session of the town board:

The board placed Kelemen on leave five months ago, after it was learned that the chief used the internet to sign up a local tea party member for web sites.  Political protesters have complained about Campbell policies which limit where they’re allowed to demonstrate.
