Hmong Vets Honored Locally Today
Not every veteran being honored on Veterans’ Day was born in the USA.
160 Hmong veterans living in Wisconsin were among the honored guests at the Lincoln Middle School assembly for Veterans’ Day in La Crosse. One of the Hmong vets, aided by an interpreter, told Lincoln students about how soldiers from Laos helped American troops in the Vietnam War:
About 35-thousand Hmong died while fighting along with U-S troops in Vietnam.
