Onalaska Boater Missing Near Dresbach Dam; Boat Found Downstream

An Onalaska man’s fishing boat and life jacket have been found on the Mississippi, but he hasn’t been seen since Saturday.

Search crews were out near Lock and Dam 7 at Dresbach on Sunday, looking for the 27-year-old man who had gone fishing late Saturday night in the area of the dam.  Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says the boat may have hit a gate at the lock.  The boat was found downstream yesterday, and a motor was found separately.
