Landlord Wants Compensation for Oktoberfest Damage

Damage to property during Oktoberfest in La Crosse isn’t at all unusual.  What is unusual is the step that one La Crosse landlord has taken: Billing the city for the damage.  In this case, four hundred bucks for an electrical box pulled off the wall of a property on north 11th in the university area.  With Olson Apartments, Jessica Olson says she took the step out of an abundance of frustration

Olson says the city engages in a double standard: Expecting the best from landlords, but allowing drunken mayhem to swamp the college neighborhood, leading to excessive damage to private property.
