Temporary Footbridge Being Placed Over Highway 14 In Winona This Week

The footbridge at St. Mary’s University in Winona is about to return…temporarily.

The Minnesota D-O-T plans to install a short-term pedestrian bridge over Highway 14 on Thursday, and maybe Friday.  Traffic will be rerouted from 14 during the installation.  A truck failed to clear the bridge last month, and caused enough damage to force the span’s removal.  Minn-DOT hopes to permanently rebuild the footbridge within the next two or three years, if funding is available.
