Local Aid to Government Numbers Expected This Week
Local governments should know for sure this week what they can expect in state aid from Madison. And if past experience is any guide, says state rep from La Crosse Jill Billings, it might not be pretty
The state is reportedly facing a current deficit hole of several hundred million dollars and as much as 3 billion dollars for the next two year budget. Those deficits in the past have been made up with cuts to local government aid.
