City Mulls Adding to TIF District

 A couple of hotel projects as well as large chunks of the Washburn neighborhood would be part of a new Tax Incremental Finance District in La Crosse.  The city plan commission next week considers adding to an existing TIF disrict the Don Weber Charmant hotel project as well as the new Hilton-Hampton project that’s replacing old warehouse space on second street.  The city has agreed to provide 750 thousand dollars in TIF money to Weber for his luxury hotel project.  Four or ffive blocks of a residential area just south of the Main library would also become part of the TIF.
