A teenager from Rochester now has been charged for bringing a gun to school earlier this month. Police say the 17 year-old told his mom he packed his .22 rifle in his car so he could protect his girlfriend from some apparent threat. Mom ratted the boy out and police arrested him for having the gun on Byron school property. They say there was never a real threat to anyone in the school but just having the gun at the school is still a crime. They say the gun was loaded, he had plenty of extra ammo and a bunch of knives in the car as well. The boy has not been identified.
