Mother-Daughter Team Finds Fest Medallion At Vets Freedom Park

A family of medallion hunters nabs the Oktoberfest prize this year…

Karen Black of La Crosse and her daughters Dianna and Lindsey captured the 2014 medallion after dark on Sunday night, in the enclosure around the tank at Veterans Freedom Park.  They found it after seven clues, and about 8 to 10 hours of footwork in several locations throughout the city.  Karen also won the medallion hunt 13 years ago.  She has taken part in the search every year since the late 70’s.  The reward for finding the medallion is 500 dollars and tickets to the Festmaster’s Ball.
