Sand Mine Appeal Heard

A state appeals court has turned down some objections to a Trempealeau County

sand mine permit from a citizen living near the mine. Judith Haase-Hardie is challenging the operation of the Preferred Sands mine at Blair on seven different issues.  The D-N-R rejected a call for hearings on four of the issues, saying Haase-Hardie had not shown that there was a dispute of facts on those issues.  Haase-Hardie appealed the ruling, saying that because some of the issues got a hearing, all of them should be discussed at hearings.  The appeals court agreed with the D-N-R.
