Planning for Riverside North Moving Ahead Without Planner

The city of La Crosse is beginning the process of planning for its biggest development project without the guy who sheperded the project along for years.  The Redevelopment Authority meets today to discuss the way forward for the former Mobil Oil site without planner Larry Kirch, leaving for a job in Arizona next month.  But no matter who’s directing traffic, says mayor Tim Kabat, the goal has to be about getting more developers interested
 
 
 
 
It was Kirch’s idea to hold a so-called charrette process for the 65 acre site, now known as Riverside North, with the idea of getting the public also involved in planning.
