New Charges Filed In Tremplo County Heroin Death From 2013

Almost a year after a Trempealeau man died from a heroin overdose, a man from French Island is in court, to face a homicide charge in the case. 

Jered Hellerud is out of jail on a 10-thousand dollar signature bond.  Hellerud was arrested in May for the August 2013 death of Robert Gordon.  Police claim he supplied the fatal dose of heroin to Gordon.  A Trempealeau County charge against Hellerud was dismissed last week, and it has now been re-filed in La Crosse.
