Roscoe Short Dies; Tavern Owner, Radio Personality

We’re told that long-time La Crosse businessman Roscoe Short has died…

Rosco oe owned the Vogue bar on George Street for many years, and he was popular with listeners to WKTY’s ‘Lead Balloon Show’ as a frequent co-host with Mike Kearns.  Roscoe retired from the show three years ago, when he was 87.  He served as parade marshal for the Oktoberfest Torchlight Parade in 1975.
