La Crosse County is in a holding pattern when it comes to issuing
marriage licenses to same-sex couples. That according to County Clerk Ginny Dankmeyer. She tells us her phones were quite busy this morning.
Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has appealed a federal judges ruling banning the licenses and says the state’s current ban on same sex marriage remains in place. U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb is expected to have a 1 p.m. conference today with the parties in the case, which might also lead to a ruling from her on whether or not she’ll stay Friday’s decision.
