Kind Calls For Committee To Look Into VA Problems

Congressman Ron Kind says he’ll wait until an official investigation is

completed before making any decision on whether Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki should resign. The VA has come under fire after reports that dozens of hospital patients in Phoenix may have died while awaiting medical care. Kind spoke about the matter in La Crosse Tuesday.

Meanwhile, several other U.S. lawmakers are calling on House Speaker John Boehner to establish a House Select Committee to investigate the problems that plague the VA. And some, are calling for Shinseki’s job. Kind is calling for the creation of a Blue Ribbon commission to improve care delivery at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
