Secret VA List Sickens Kind

40 U.S. veterans have died while on a Phoenix VA hospital’s cost-cutting secret wait list. The sham list was part of an elaborate scheme by top-level management to doctor patient wait times. Patients had to wait as long as 20 weeks to see primary care physicians despite some having life-threatening conditions. Congressman Ron Kind tells us this sickens him.

Details of the scheme were unearthed by a CNN investigation, which shared emails of VA officials who praised the hospital’s system for its efficiency and others who had reservations about the procedure. Kind says no problems have been found in any Wisconsin VA center.
