Judge Lister To Retire

An area judge has settled on his retirement date. Judge Thomas Lister of

Jackson County announced a year ago that he would retire sometime in 2014. Lister has now told Governor Walker that he’ll resign August 1st, a full year before the end of his term. The governor’s office will take applications for judge through 5 p-m on May 26th, which happens to be Memorial Day. The newly appointed judge will serve until August of 2015, and will be eligible to run next April for a full term.
