Local Runner Returning to Boston, Determined to Finish

Attention drawn to Boston ahead of the upcoming marathon because of an apparent bomb hoax along the marathon route.  We asked La Crosse’s Kristi Shappel if the disruption changes her resolve to run in this year’s event.  Not at all, she says

Shappel’s first Boston marathon was last year.  She was blocks from the finish line when two explosions occurred, killing three and injuring more than 250 others.
