LOWV Puzzled Over Stickergate

The stink over voting stickers at the polls this week is kind of curious to the stickers’ owners.  La Crosse League of Women Voters, “I voted today” stickers got yanked on Tuesday after complaints about the League’s partisan nature.  Bizarre, says attorney Ellen Frantz, because the group supports voting rights issues regardless of party.  Take the League’s position to take redistricting out of the hands of politicians

Frantz says the League of Women Voters core mission is to enhance voter access.  It never supports specific candidates.  It does, however, take positions on specific issues like global climate change and immigration reform.
