Roofing Fees Would Remain Under Council Plan

Roofing inspection fees would stay intact under the latest plan from the La Crosse city council.  The council votes Tuesday night to keep the city’s roofing inspection permit process in place while getting rid of fees for window and siding replacement.  But council member Andrea Richmond doesn’t like any of the fees

The controversial fees were put in place in 2011 and have raised about 100 thousand dollars in revenue for the city.  City staff admits that the revenue falls far short of covering the costs of the inspections.
