What A Winter
Americans definitely have had a winter to tell the grand-kids about, years
from now. The National Weather Service says winter ended on Friday night, as far as record-keeping goes. And this has been La Crosse’s coldest winter in almost 40 years. Here are a few numbers showing that this has been a rough season in La Crosse. In a typical five-day period this winter, we probably had snow falling on three days, and temps went below zero two or three times. Biggest snowfall of the winter was 6 and a half inches in mid-January. But, we pretty much haven’t seen grass on the lawn since the first week of December.
