Lawyers in a local attempted murder case will have a few more weeks to get ready for trial…

Cordero Short will now go to trial in July for accidentally shooting Alyssa Bakke in the back, when he was aiming his gun at the woman’s boyfriend, Reavon Taylor. The trial had been scheduled for March. Short was arrested in the Chicago area, five months after the shooting outside La Crosse’s Ye Old Style Inn. Short has told police that he came to La Crosse specifically intending to shoot Taylor.
