Wrong Way Driver Lands In Jail

A New Years Eve wrong way driver in Monroe County really brought out

some New Years charges. Cops were told that 67 year old Jesse Stanford of Tomah was driving the wrong way on Highway 16 near Highway 71. Cops say Stanford was uncooperative at the time of the stop and showed signs of impairment. After some drunk tests, Stanford was arrested for OWI. But the charges grew from there.

During jail processing, jailers saw Stanford reach into his sweatshirt and drop a plastic bag containing crack cocaine. A glass pipe was also found. 5 more charges were then tacked on to Stanfords list.
