Vehicle Recovery in Progress on Mississippi at La Crosse
Emergency responders are working to pull a vehicle out of the Mississippi at La Crosse this morning. Police say a car or truck apparently kept driving west on Jackson street even after the road ended at the river early this morning. The vehicle made the approximately forty foot drop, kept driving for a time and then went through the ice. Dive rescue is working to secure the vehicle in order to pull it out of the water. Police won’t say whether they suspect there’s anyone still inside. An MTU worker called the accident in. Suspicious, apparently, after seeing the tire tracks of the vehicle go off Jackson street towards the river.
