Kwik Trip Murder Goes TO Trial In 2014
A convenience store murder made the news in La Crosse in the middle of 2013.
The suspect in the case will have to wait until the middle of next year for his trial. Mitrel Anderson is awaiting a June trial for the death of DeMario Lee. Police say surveillance video at the Cass Street Kwik Trip showed Anderson strike Lee in the head with a weapon. Lieutenant Matt Mallott testified about that video:
Anderson claims the fight with Lee was in retaliation for being attacked by men in the Kwik Trip restroom. His attorneys are asking for certain statements to police to be kept out of evidence at the trial.
