Phone Scam Again
Just hitting the numbers on yout telephone key pad could get you in deep with
scammers. Sandy Chalmers with Wisconsin Consumer Protection says you’ll get a call that you may be a respondent in a court case and you might have your wages garnished if you don’t press a key on your phone, talk to a litigator, and presumably pay a settlement. Do that….and your number may be sold to crooks. What do if your trapped?
Chalmers says you should never hit any keys during a phone call, and never talk to a live person in that situation. Even if you don’t give up money right away, Chalmers says scammers could sell your number to other crooks who might see you as easy prey.
