One Dead, Two Injured In Monroe County Crash

A Sparta man is dead and two others injured in an early Sunday morning high

speed chase crash.

 

According to the Sparta PD…..officers were trying to make a traffic stop when 31 year old Steve Johnson of Chippewa Falls failed to stop and took off. His car went over the centerline and into the path of 34 year old Luz Flores Procel. Procel died at the scene.

 

Johnson and his 37 year old passenger, Thomas Stewart of Milwaukee were both air flighted to a La Crosse hospital. Their conditions are unknown. Police say alcohol played a factor in the crash. The crash is still being investigated.
