Veteran’s Day Activities

At Luther High School a short ceremony Honoring Wounded & Disabled Veterans will be held.... At the VFW Post 1530 / American Legion Post 52 there will be activities starting at the VFW Post at 9 a.m., moving to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for an ceremony at 10am and finishing at the American Legion at 11 a.m. with the honor guard. At Western Technical College they will have a Meet and Greet, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Student Union, to celebrate and participate in various activities to thank all their Veteran students, staff, family and community members who have served and are currently serving The American Legion Post 336 will be hosting a Post’s Salute for Veterans Day at 1 p.m. at their American Flag site. The American Legions Post Honor Guard will provide the ceremony. To thank America's veterans and other active members of the military for their sacrifice and service, active military personnel and veterans will be admitted to see Honor Flight: One Last Mission for free by showing proper military I.D. The movie is being shown at 2:35 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. You can see it at the La Crosse Cinema Also Tuesday, St. Patrick School an Aquinas Catholic School be holding a short program following the 8 a.m. mass to honor veterans. All Veterans are invited to a reception following the program in the Parish’s Gathering Space. And this weekend, at the UW-L vs. UW-Eau Claire football game at the Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex it is the Pack the Vet game with an Honors Video, Presentation of the flag by the ROTC Color Guard, an aerial flyover, three-volley firearms salute, recognition of all service members in attendance and a patriotic salute by the Screaming Eagles Marching Band.
