La Crosse District Passes Budget

The La Crosse School District board set the 2013-14 tax levy at 10.97 last

night, the highest it’s been since 1998. Business Manager, Janet Rossiter explains the $75 increase to some folks tax bill over last year.

Basically that means the less state aid…the more reliance there has been on the local tax dollar. There is $2 million more this year in the $90 million budget….but Rossiter says that’s to retire debt left over from the referendums in 2008 and 2012.
