Preemie Rates Fluctuate

Health care in America has made many advances in recent years…but progress

may not matter if people can’t get enough insurance to help them afford medical care.

 

A yearly report by the March of Dimes shows that Wisconsin and Minnesota have seen increases in the rate of premature births, which is contrary to the national trend.  The director of the Wisconsin March of Dimes, Jodi Legge, says lack of insurance is an important factor in how healthy a baby could be:

The March of Dimes report reflects how many babies are born at least three weeks before their due date, which increases the risk of health problems.
