Police Chief Faces Charges
A southeastern Minnesota police chief is facing criminal sexual conduct
charges. A complaint says Brownsdale Chief Jason Mindrup offered a woman he met at a bar a ride, drove her to a remote spot, took his clothes, and sexually assaulted her.
Mindrup told the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that he gave the woman a ride, but dropped her back off at the bar after she asked to go to his home.
He was placed on administrative leave during the investigation. The Olmsted County Attorney’s office is handling the case to avoid a conflict of interest.
