Committee Disbanding In La Crosse?

Will anybody miss La Crosse’s Alcohol Oversight Committee, if it’s

discontinued by the city council?

 

Probably not, says Brenda Rooney from Gundersen Lutheran.  Rooney is a member of a coalition on risky drinking behavior, which issued a report last year on the ‘burden’ of binge drinking.  Rooney thinks progress has been made since last fall.  She points out a new law passed by the Onalaska City Council.

Rooney wants to see more efforts to cut down on alcohol abuse at over a dozen annual festivals in the La Crosse area…and at house parties in local college neighborhoods.
