Thomson May Have Hurt Other Cases

Dozens of criminal cases in La Crosse County may have been jeopardized by

alleged tampering with evidence…

 

City police had that fear when they charged former lieutenant Brian Thomson with stealing drugs from the department’s evidence room.  However, D-A Tim Gruenke says the cases potentially affected by changes or losses of drug evidence may not be that high:

Gruenke says defense attorneys in the cases connected to Thomson’s actions have been notified of the problem.  Criminal charges were filed against Thomson just this week, two months after his arrest.
