Is It Black Friday…..Or Black Thursday?

The new Black Friday tradition among American Christmas shoppers may soon

become Black Thursday. More and more retail chains are scheduling shopping hours on Thanksgiving night…including Macy’s for the first time.  Valley View Mall in La Crosse is going to repeat its practice from last year, of letting stores open at midnight Thursday if they choose.  Mall manager Jeff Odom says there may be pressure to start early this season, because Thanksgiving falls on the latest possible date:

Last year, 30 to 40 per cent of Valley View’s vendors opened their doors just after midnight on the day after Thanksgiving.
