Drug Dealing as Supplemental Income

The strong smell of marijuana emanating from a northside motel room has led to drug dealing charges for an Onalaska man.  A maid at the Econolodge on Rose street in La Crosse smelled the pot coming from Joshua Hayter’s room Sunday afternoon.  The front desk manager went to the room, knocked, and heard the sound of air freshener getting sprayed.  Cops later found hundreds of dollars in cash, a few ounces of marijuana, a digital scale and other signs of dealing.  The 28 year-old Hayter told cops he had turned to dealing pot because he wasn’t making enough at his job as a cook at a country club.
